Mpofu and wife get order to eject sister-in-law
MKP politician, Advocate Dali Mpofu SC, and his wife, Mpumi, have escalated their legal actions to evict his sister-in-law, Nomathamsanqa Vallihu, from their luxurious mansion in Houghton, Johannesburg.
The couple has successfully obtained a court order issuing a warrant of ejectment, which mandates her removal from the property, says a City Press report.
In July last year, the couple approached the Gauteng High Court (Johannesburg) seeking to compel Vallihu – Mpumi’s sister – to vacate their house, as relations with her had soured during her extended stay.
The couple subsequently obtained the ejectment order in December after a court order was granted by the same court rendering Vallihu’s nearly seven-year stay at their house unlawful.
In their earlier documents, the couple revealed that Vallihu had been staying with them since 2018 under a temporary accommodation agreement, but she had since overstayed her welcome.
Mpumi also alleged she had been assaulted by Vallihu during an argument about the matter.
Mpumi accuses Vallihu of refusing to take advantage of her military veterans' benefits, which include free accommodation.
‘She calls my daughter fat and shouts and screams at her whenever my daughter refuses to be bullied by her. These actions are opposed to our household values and, despite insisting that she stop such crude actions, she simply ignores my requests,’ read the papers.
