Admitted in South Africa, England and Wales, Anina Boshoff advises on English and South African law, mainly transactional work, including local and cross-border finance transactions and offshore investments. She gained some of her extensive experience over the past 14 years during a 3-year-stint in Singapore and now heads our banking and finance department in Johannesburg. Anina's practice focuses on advising both funders (including offshore banks and development finance institutions) and corporates on finance and restructuring transactions in sub-Saharan Africa, including through secured and unsecured loan debt, trade finance and hybrid debt/equity funding. She has been involved in transactions in a variety of sectors including, media, mining and energy. She has received a Best Lawyers of South Africa award for finance in 2015 and has been recommended in Legal 500 for banking and finance. Lead counsel for PPC Ltd on US$168.2m project financing by IFC and PTA Bank to a newly created subsidiary cement plant in DRC. Acting for Portland Holdings Limited (PPC subsidiary) on a US$75m syndicated English law governed facility by PTA Bank for a cement milling plant in Zimbabwe. Acting for Primedia Proprietary Limited in the restructuring of its capital structure and the refinancing of group debt of approximately ZAR3.935bn. Acting for GDF Suez (main sponsor) in relation to a ZAR9.7bn financing of two peaking power plants in South Africa of 1005 MW capacity. Acting for Grupo FerroAtlántia S.A.U. and its South African subsidiaries in the raising of approximately ZAR200m acquisition financing and refinancing of existing facility of ZAR565m. Acting for Kalagadi Manganese Proprietary Limited (as borrower) on a ZAR1.05bn bridging loan facility and EUR150m term loan facility. Advising Nedbank Limited on its acquisition of an equity stake of up to 20% in Ecobank Transnational Limited through US$285m convertible loan.
