Lizelle Acker

Lizelle Acker focuses on business rescue, as well as liquidation and sequestration related matters. Formal inquiries into the affairs of companies in liquidation and pursuing corporate recoveries by calling up suretyships form part of her day-to-day activities. In addition, she advises corporate clients on credit and regulatory related issues. Lizelle has acted for financial institutions, including major banks, liquidators, business rescue practitioners and various corporate clients. In business rescue scenarios she advises practitioners on all business rescue related matters, including the developing of business rescue plans and the resolution of disputed claims. Representative experience: Advising a sub-Saharan fund management company on National Credit Act requirements. Representing SARS in an insolvency inquiry where a close corporation and its members owed in excess of ZAR50m. Advising the business rescue practitioners during the process of a successful business rescue of a medical waste management company.
