Martin holds a B. Proc. degree from the University of Pretoria and obtained practical experience in the Deeds Office before he qualified as an attorney, notary and conveyancer in 1981. He joined MacRobert Attorneys in 1987 and was appointed a director in 1988. In legal circles Martin is well respected as a leading authority on township development, sectional title schemes and complex conveyancing and notarial work. Martin played a leading role in the Property Law Group Project that prepared the landmark document titled, Transforming the Property Industry for the 21st Century, which instigated the introduction of electronic land registration in South Africa. He is a serving member of the Property Law Committee of the Pretoria Attorneys’ Association and a member of the Property Law Committee of the Law Society for the Northern Provinces. He has published several articles on conveyancing and property law and is actively involved in training candidate attorneys who are preparing for the conveyancing and notarial admission examinations.
