Court hears recording of Momberg's race abuse
Emergency call centre operators have testified they were at the receiving end of verbal abuse and racial slurs from estate agent Vicki Momberg, who faces charges relating to her offensive conduct directed at a police officer who tried to assist her after a smash and grab incident. According to a Beeld report, Momberg has appeared in the Randburg Regional Court on four charges of crimen injuria.
The court heard a five-minute recording of her expletive-laden call to 10111 operator Tendai Mulaudzi, who testified he could not assist Momberg as she was screaming and swearing too much.
‘I don’t have civil conversations with kaffirs,’ she told Mulaudzi, according to the recording.
The court also heard how she called Mulaudzi a ‘fucking useless piece of shit’.
Defence counsel Joe Dawidowitz said during cross-examination his client was distressed ‘and wasn’t thinking rationally’. But Mulaudzi said many of the callers to the centre were distressed and didn’t act that way.
Another operator, Peter Bittenbos, testified he was also verbally abused by Momberg.
