Beleaguered businessman Vuyisile Ndzeku could face a writ of execution at the hands of SARS if he fails to settle more than R15m of his outstanding tax bill after he was served with a final letter of demand by the revenue collector.

City Press has seen the letter issued by SARS yesterday, which warns Ndzeku to start a payment method outlined in the letter or face civil action lodged at the High Court.

The letter stipulates that Ndzeku’s outstanding tax amount stands at R15 848 072.

It also stipulates that the former director of JM Aviation SA, a company that did business with Swissport, which itself scored billions worth of contracts from SAA, has 10 business days to remedy the action.

It warns that failure to make full payment or use the above remedies may result in SARS appointing any third party who presently or in the future will owe Ndzeku money or hold money for him to settle the tax debt with this money.

In 2020, Ndzeku appeared before the Commission into State Capture to answer questions over allegations that he masterminded corrupt payments, including to SAA head of procurement Lester Peter.

He denied that he had anything to do with the payments, one of which was made to himself to the tune of R2.5m.
