SARS sets its sights on Sophie Ndaba
The SARS is gunning for a writ of execution to possibly sell the assets of a company belonging to former Generations star and businesswoman Sophie Ndaba should it fail to settle more than R23m in outstanding tax debt.
City Press understands that on 26 June, the revenue collector issued Sophla Trading with a final letter of demand for payment of R23 617 304.
The 50-year-old who got her break as Queen Moroka on the popular SABC1 soapie appears to be the sole director of Sophla Trading.
SARS alludes to taking legal action if the company fails to comply with payment methods stipulated by the revenue collector.
‘Failure to make full payment or use the above remedies may result in the following actions and possibly others: SARS may appoint any third party who presently or in the future will owe you money or hold money for you to settle your tax debt with this money,’ it notified her.
SARS spokesperson Anton Fisher said they did not discuss private taxpayer information with third parties.
