Advocate Dali Mpofu SC and his wife Mpumi have obtained an eviction order to remove his sister-in-law, Nomathamsanqa Vallihu, out of their Houghton home, reports City Press.

In July, the couple approached the Gauteng High Court (Johannesburg) seeking to compel Vallihu to vacate their house, as relations with her had soured during her extended stay.

The ruling handed down on 29 October by Judge Victor Noko, cited that Vallihu had until 2 December to vacate the premises, before eviction agents would be deployed.

City Press could not establish whether Vallihu had left the premises as ordered, nor did the Mpofus respond to inquiries.

In their earlier documents, the couple revealed that Vallihu had been staying with them since 2018 under a temporary accommodation agreement, but she had since overstayed her welcome.

She cites that she obtained a protection order against Vallihu in November 2020, following an alleged physical assault by her, and that her sister has also directed attacks at her 20-year-old daughter.

Mpumi further cites that Vallihu has expressed no desire to leave their house, frequently arguing that she has no other place to stay.

She ultimately accuses Vallihu of refusing to take advantage of her military veterans' benefits, which includes free accommodation.
