Debra Gouws Attorneys was established in Cape Town during April 2006 as a focused and niche property law and conveyancing firm with an emphasis on residential, retail, commercial and mixed use land and sectional title developments.

Debra Gouws is a graduate of the University of Cape Town. After completing her articles at a Cape Town law firm, Debra joined Mallinicks Inc as a professional assistant in the property law and conveyancing department. Debra was promoted to associate and thereafter to a director, as Head of the Property Law and Conveyancing Department, which position she enjoyed for close to 5 years. After nearly 10 years at Mallinicks Inc, Debra decided to establish her own law firm in Cape Town, specialising in property law and conveyancing, much as she did whilst at Mallinicks.

Debra has a large and loyal client base and services clients nationwide across the residential, retail, commercial and industrial sector, in both freehold and sectional title matters. Debra"s focus is on mixed use developments, where she plays a key role within the developer"s project team, dealing with land acquisitions, development strategies and the implementation and finances of the development. Debra has a wide array of experience in the establishment of sectional title schemes, the drafting of Body Corporate Rules and Home Owners Association"s Constitutions. Debra also has experience with retirement villages.

Debra has a team of two conveyancing paralegals, a receptionist and a deeds office clerk. Pat Karshagen, a senior experienced paralegal, joined Debra Gouws Attorneys in April 2006, having been Debra"s paralegal at Mallinicks.
