June Stacey Marks Attorneys is a specialist South African law firm established in 2005. The firm provides senior-led legal representation in complex commercial litigation, company and shareholder disputes, business rescue, insolvency, white-collar crime, extradition, constitutional litigation and cross-border matters.
The practice is founded and led by June Stacey Marks, an experienced litigation attorney with rights of appearance in the High Court, Labour Court, Supreme Court of Appeal and Constitutional Court. June holds BCom, LLB and LLM degrees, all awarded cum laude, and received UNISA’s medal as its top LLB graduate. She is also an LLD candidate in public, constitutional and international law.
Every matter is personally led at principal level. Clients receive direct access to the attorney responsible for developing the strategy, analysing the evidence, preparing the case and protecting the client’s position. There are no unnecessary institutional layers separating the client from the person accountable for the outcome.
The firm acts in high-value and strategically important commercial disputes involving directors, shareholders, boards, companies, creditors, business rescue practitioners, investors and funders. Its work includes shareholder oppression and section 163 proceedings, director-removal disputes, urgent interdicts, restraints of trade, unlawful competition, Anton Piller orders, derivative actions, disputes arising from shareholders’ agreements and memoranda of incorporation, asset recovery and complex contractual claims.
In business rescue and insolvency matters, the firm advises on commencement proceedings, practitioner appointments, moratoria, post-commencement finance, rescue plans, creditor voting, challenges under sections 130, 131 and 153 of the Companies Act, liquidation and sequestration, insolvency enquiries, impeachable dispositions and the conversion of unsuccessful business rescue proceedings into liquidation.
The firm also has substantial experience in extradition, international criminal law, white-collar investigations, fraud, asset tracing, diplomatic assurances, prison conditions and cross-border proceedings involving foreign governments, multinational organisations and assets situated outside South Africa.
June Stacey Marks Attorneys approaches every mandate with precision, commercial purpose and courtroom readiness. The objective is not merely to administer a legal process, but to identify the leverage, control the risk and pursue the outcome that best protects the client.
The Marks Factor: Precision with Power.
We don’t outsource the fight — we lead it.
