Kelder & Conradie Overview

Established in 1983, Kelder & Conradie is a progressive South African firm of attorneys offering personal and commercial legal services. To serve our growing number of clients in South Africa and the European Union, conducting international trade, the firm established a branch in Amsterdam in November 1996.

In May 1997 the firm's founder, Leo Kelder, entered into partnership with a Dutch lawyer, Mr T V M de Meyer, M Iuris. The European branch changed its name to KELDER & DE MEYER and moved its offices to Maastricht, the birthplace of the European Union.

On January 1, 1998, Louis Conradie took over the South African office, while Leo Kelder moved to the Netherlands office in Amsterdam, to take over from Tom de Meyer.

Through our offices in South Africa and the European Union we co-ordinate an extensive network of highly skilled, professional lawyers serving our clients' needs effectively and cost effectively in their respective area of jurisdiction. Through our network we save our clients, travelling, time and money. All our services are rendered personally by or under the personal supervision of Leo Kelder or Louis Conradie.

Leo Kelder studied economics in the Netherlands and law in South Africa and is a South African attorney with 20 years of high-level expertise in negotiating and drafting of contracts specialising in the conceptualisation, structuring and implementation of sophisticated business transactions. He is fluent in English and Dutch and has a working knowledge of German and French.

Louis Conradie studied law at Stelllenbosch University and graduated with a B.A. LLB. He has been a practicing attorney for 28 years, focusing on general, property and commercial legal work.

Together we operate an extensive network assisting high-tech companies in starting exports and the creation of worldwide sales networks. Our network is particularly well introduced in the emerging South African market, the established markets of the European Union and the booming economic centres of Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, China and the Philippines.
