Spilkins Incorporated Overview

The Firm was established by JH Spilkin in 1927. After obtaining the Municipal Medal for the highest marks in Port Elizabeth for matric, he won the Municipal Scholarship to Rhodes University and after completing a BA Degree with Honours, he won a scholarship to Oxford University, which he could not take up because his father could not afford the boat fare.

He accordingly entered the legal profession in Grahamstown, but during his years at Rhodes University he received the most incredibly high accolades from his Professors, copies of which are available for perusal on request. JH Spilkin's son, Sidney Spilkin, joined the Firm in 1960 and is presently the Senior Partner.

The other Partners are Jonathan Rubin, who is the son of the famed Port Elizabeth Mayor of 1971 and 1991, Solomon Rubin, and Madeleen Charsley.We presently have three Directors, one Associate and two Candidate Attorneys. Our offices are situated at 15 Rink Street, Central Port Elizabeth.

We specialise in Corporate Law, Property Law, Conveyancing, International Trade, Insurance Law and Civil Litigation, especially in the High Court.

The Firm was established in Port Elizabeth in 1927 and has high regard in the community and the legal fraternity.
