Van der Want Attorneys, in Norwood, Johannesburg, was formed at the beginning of 2014 by Matthew van der Want and Claire Gaul, both previously partners in large South African commercial law firms. The firm has been under Matthew van der Want’s sole proprietorship since August 2015.

Our attorneys have experience in commercial legal work, mining law, administrative and regulatory law, as well as civil litigation and family law. We have advised on the negotiation and implementation of a variety of commercial transactions, and have also litigated in many matters, including major commercial litigation, contractual disputes and delictual claims.

We provide legal services of high quality at a fraction of the cost charged by the big commercial law firms. We are responsive, efficient and take pride in the integrity with which we approach every matter.
