Andrew Patrick Buhagiar

Andrew Buhagiar matriculated from Alexander Road High School in 1993. He completed a B.Juris degree at the University of Port Elizabeth in 1996 and a LLB degree at the University of Port Elizabeth in 1998. He also has an Advanced Diploma in Tax Practice (RAU). He was admitted as an attorney in 2001, as a conveyancer in 2005 and as a Notary Public in 2007. He commenced his legal career as a candidate attorney at Russell Esterhuizen Nel & de Klerk Attorneys, in East London in 1999. He was later appointed as a Professional Assistant at Linde Dorrington & Kirchmann Attorneys in 2001. He was appointed as a Director of Kirchmanns Inc in 2003. In 2005 he joined Squire Smith & Laurie Inc. as a Director, becoming the Managing Director in 2012. He started practicing as a civil and criminal court litigator, later focusing on High Court litigation. He then built a commercial practice focusing on the drafting and negotiating of contracts; advisory and opinion work; company secretarial and corporate litigation. In 2005, whilst at Squire Smith & Laurie Inc., he attended on the Eastern Cape Deeds Registry on a daily basis, as a correspondent conveyancer attending to the lodgement and registration of Tranfers, Bonds, Cancellations, Townships, Sectional Developments and Notarial Deeds, for conveyancers throughout the country. In 2013 he, along with his family, relocated from East London to Cape Town to pursue further opportunities. This culminated in him joining DTS Attorneys in November 2013 and opening the Cape Town Office of DTS Attorneys.
