Candice has practiced for seven years as a family law attorney and specialises in matters pertaining to parental rights and responsibilities, contact and care, children's rights, maintenance enquries, domestic violence applications, divorce, civil unions/ domestic partnerships, international child abduction and the Hague Convention, as well as aspects of the new Children's Act. She has completed a certificate course on the Children's Act at the University of Pretoria with Professor Ann Skelton who heads up the Centre for Child Law. Candice is qualified in drafting parental plans, parentals rights and responsibilties agreements and Memoranda of Understanding in mediations. Recently Candice received extensive trainning in family law mediation and is a qualified mediator and member of the South African Organisation of Accredited Mediators (SAAM). Mediation is an alternative dispute resolution that has become mandatory in family related matters in our courts' division. She also deals with general civil litigation in the Magistrate's and High Court. Candice is a member of the SAWLA (South African Women Lawyers Association) KZN Chapter.
