Dale Healy is a partner in the firm’s Trade Mark Litigation section. He was admitted as an attorney in 2005 and became a Fellow of the South African Institute of Intellectual Property Law in the same year.Dale advises clients in connection with all aspects of trade mark and brand enforcement, including trade mark infringement, passing-off and unlawful competition proceedings, trade mark oppositions and cancellations, company name objections and domain name disputes. He also advises clients on all aspects of copyright law, such as ownership, licensing and enforcement. Dale represents many high-profile South African and global corporations in all their contentious trade mark matters on the African continent. Some of his key clients include Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation, Warner Bros Entertainment Inc., Dassault Systèmes SolidWorks Corporation, Southern Sun, Tsogo, ABC Sweets, Godrej Group, Motorola Trademark Holdings, LLC, Verizon Media, Hearst Communications, Honda Motor Co, and Shell Brands International AGDale’s experience in contentious work includes the preparation of written advice, cease and desist letters and pleadings for High Court and Tribunal matters; urgent and routine High Court motions for interim or final injunctions; and ex-parte motions for the preservation of evidence (Anton Piller motions). He also runs software compliance programmes for several clients.
