Derek Andrew Lotter

Derek Lötter is the head of Bowman Gilfillan's Competition Law practice and has been a Partner with Bowman Gilfillan since 2001. He holds BComm and LLB degrees (University of KwaZulu-Natal - 1995), and a Masters in Business Leadership (Unisa Graduate School of Business Leadership - 2002). Derek has certificates in Advanced Company Law I and II (University of the Witwatersrand – 2012) and completed Banking and Financial Markets Law (University of the Witwatersrand – 2010). During 2002, Derek practiced with the Brussels office of Clifford Chance. Derek has been involved in a large number of prominent mergers and behavioural competition matters before the competition authorities in South Africa, and has advised on all aspects of South African competition law. Derek also advises on the competition law implications of activities in a number of other African countries.
