Eben van Zyl provides multi-disciplinary legal and related services, primarily to the mining, construction and engineering industries. He focuses on litigation, criminal, commercial, mining health and safety law, and occupational health and safety law. Eben has experience with regard to resolving mining disputes, together with preparing and reviewing documents and agreements related to the mining industry. He assisted and represented various companies at investigations and inquiries conducted in terms of health and safety legislation including Glencore Operations South Africa Proprietary Limited, Rustenburg Platinum Mines Proprietary Limited, Royal Bafokeng Resources Proprietary Limited, Hernic Ferrochrome Proprietary Limited, Keaton Energy Holdings Limited, Tharisa Minerals Proprietary Limited, South32 SA Coal Holdings Proprietary Limited, and Novus Holdings and its subsidiaries. Representative experience: Assisting Shanduka Coal Proprietary Limited Graspan Colliery to resolve employment and labour related disputes. Representing employees of Hotazel Manganese Resources, Rustenburg Platinum Mines and Exxaro Coal Mpumalanga in criminal prosecution cases, resulting from fatal accidents at the mines. Assisting and representing various Anglo American Group companies in relation to mining related incidents and accidents.
