Edmund (Ed) Booth graduated from the University of Stellenbosch in 1979 with BA LLB degrees. He commenced his legal career as a Prosecutor with the Department of Justice and served his articles with the State Attorney in Cape Town, where he was admitted as an attorney in 1984. After leaving the Department of Justice, he joined attorneys Fairbridge Arderne & Lawton. During the 1990's he was approached by the SA Police Legal Services and was the head of the SAPS Western Cape Legal Services from 1993 until 2007. During 2007 he left the SA Police Services and returned to private practice. He practiced as Edmund Booth Attorneys until April 2012. During May 2012, he joined Brits Dreyer Inc as a director. Ed specialises in general litigation (civil-, commercial- and criminal), matrimonial- and family law, administrative law and in particular liquor licensing and firearms related matters and actions against the State and SA Police Service. Ed is also a marriage official authorised by the Department of Home Affairs and conduct marriage ceremonies.
