Freddie Terblanche

Freddie Terblanche is a senior commercial litigator with broad experience in complex disputes. He has acted for various elite corporations which include banks, insurance companies, medical aid scheme administrators, property developers, asset managers and other listed companies, but he has also acted for private companies and prominent individuals against some of the country’s leading corporations. His experience is as wide as it is deep, covering, inter alia: contractual disputes; damages claims; tender review applications; insolvency, business rescue and restructuring; commercial lease disputes; real estate disputes; insurance claims; building, construction and engineering disputes; company law and shareholder disputes; franchise disputes and secured and unsecured debt recoveries. Prior to joining Hayes Inc, Freddie worked as a litigator at two award-winning large law firms, Routledge Modise Inc in Sandton (which practised under the name of Eversheds Johannesburg at the time, but is now known as Hogan Lovells South Africa) and Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr Inc in Cape Town. He also did a stint at Eversheds LLP in Cardiff (Wales) where he worked as part of a team handling complex mortgage litigation on behalf of some of Europe’s largest financial institutions. Before that, he completed articles of clerkship and practised as a junior attorney at award-winning medium sized firm, Ramsay Webber Inc in Johannesburg. Freddie was admitted as an attorney of the High Court in 2009, and holds LLB and LLM (Import and Export Law) degrees from the North-West University (Potchefstroom). He has a keen interest in the mechanics of commerce and relishes the interplay between business and law. Like Harvey Specter, he believes that the only time success comes before work is in the dictionary.
