Laila Tamara Conlon

Laila Tamara Conlon is a graduate of two universities, having studied at Fort Hare and Rhodes. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree (BComm), majoring in Law and Economics, as well as a postgraduate law degree - Bachelor of Laws (LLB). Laila Conlon has worked both in the private and public legal sector. While completing her studies she initially worked at a local law firm, as a candidate attorney, and thereafter in the legal department of the local authority, Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality. Subsequent to obtaining her law degree, she went on to complete her articles with one of East London's longest-standing law firms, Gravett Schoeman van Rensburg & Moodley Incorporated, where she remained in their employ until 2011. Laila Conlon is assisted by Tarryn Pike, who similarly completed her articles at Gravett Schoeman van Rensburg & Moodley Incorporated. Apart from its professional staff, C&A is also employer to Nita Bessinger, who oversees the recoveries department. Nita has vast experience in collections, previously having been employed by former panel attorneys for the Road Accident Fund, East London, as well as Gravett Schoeman van Rensburg & Moodley Inc. (panel attorneys for the leading banking institutions including FNB, ABSA, Standard Bank and Nedbank), where she oversaw recoveries for Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality, and assisted in recoveries for First Rand Bank.
