Maresa Kurz has a LL.B from the University of the Free State. Maresa was the Vice-Chairperson and Faculty Liaison for the Juridical Society at her University and is a member of the International Golden Key Society. Maresa was awarded numerous awards for her academic excellence during her studies, including the Judge D.H Van Zyl Prize for best student in Roman Law and Legal History, an Attorneys Fidelity Fund bursary for her third and fourth year studies, and an award for achieving a distinction for her mini-thesis in her final year. Her mini-thesis was entitled ‘Diplomatic Immunity in relation to crime from a South African legal Perspective’ and was published in Meditionas Medii, a law journal, in 2010. She commenced her articles at Clarks Attorneys in June 2009. She was admitted as an attorney on 24 January 2011 and continues to practice at Clarks Attorneys. In January 2014, she was appointed as an Associate at the firm. Maresa is passionate about the law and believes in the structure it brings to a choatic world. She enjoys the diversity of matters encountered in family and personal law, and is grateful for the chance to practice law in a way that helps people and their families in a genuine manner.
