Natalie Napier provides advice to corporates, combining her commercial and tax expertise to optimally structure clients’ operations in a tax efficient manner. In addition, her strong drafting and contractual negotiation skills together with her extensive tax knowledge enable her to provide seamless services to clients across a variety of industries. She also advises clients on tax issues with regard to BEE transactions. Natalie has successfully prepared statutory documents for various public benefit organisations and attended to making successful application for registration thereof with the South African Revenue Service. Representative experience: Provided legal opinions and advice relating to taxation aspects of transactions, specifically taking into account rollover relief provisions in the context of group restructurings.  Preparing, submitting and successfully obtained various advance tax ruling applications on behalf of clients. Advised clients relating to structuring options of investments into South Africa from abroad, including various double taxation treaties, headquarter company legislation and exchange control requirements. Prepared and made submissions on behalf of client in respect of the proposed carbon tax to National Treasury. Provided tax advice relating to the recent enactment of tax legislation relating to REITs. Participated in providing tax advice for purposes of implementation of the ZAR2.7bn Pretoria Portland Cement Company Ltd and ZAR2.4bn Barloworld Ltd empowerment transactions. Involved in the contractual negotiations and legal preparations with the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa, with emphasis on the interrelationships between multiple role players. Drafting loan and security documentation for purposes of major aircraft refinancing transactions in the amount of US$30m.
