Romany Sutherland

Romany grew up on a farm in a small town called Wakkerstroom on the Mpumalanga and KwaZulu-Natal Border.  She went to boarding school in Northern Natal and matriculated in 2000. Romany was always fascinated by medicine and proceeded to study a nursing degree at Stellenbosch University in 2001.  She loved the nursing practice but was incredibly frustrated with the lack of service delivery. She felt that she needed to study something which would allow her to pursue a career targeted at obtaining justice for those failed by the very system that is intended to protect them.  Romany believed a law degree would be the answer and was adamant that the only law she would practice would incorporate her other passion, medicine.
