Rurik McKaiser

After receiving his BProc degree from the University of the Western Cape, majoring in Private Law, Law of Evidence, Law of Civil Procedure, Law of Criminal Procedure, Mercantile Law, and Corporate Law, and completing a Post Graduate Certificate in Legal Practice from the University of Cape Town, Rurik was admitted as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa.  ​Rurik studied Advanced Company Law and International Business Law at the University of the Witwatersrand. This empowers him to advise his clients as an expert on the new Companies Act, which has changed the corporate legal landscape for South African businesses. ​Rurik’s passion and expertise in the legal field lies predominantly in business – and commercial law with a specialisation in local and international corporate and company law. In this regard he has completed his Dual Legal Masters in Transnational Commercial Practice through the Lazarski University (ranked the best University in Poland) in conjunction with the ELTE (one of the most prestigious higher education institutions in Hungary), the Centre for International Legal Studies (based in Austria), and the Boston University (a top Law School in the United States of America). ​Rurik is trained and accredited as a Negotiator, Mediator and Arbitrator by having obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Dispute Settlement from the University of Stellenbosch. Given the new civil procedures rules of court assisted mediation this is a most valuable skill Rurik offers to his clients, ensuring the possibility to settle matters before exposing them to the adversarial legal process of our courts.
