Safiyya Akoojee

Safiyya commenced her career in the business world in 2001, as a director of a food manufacturing company which she successfully steered through a merger and acquisition. In 2007 Safiyya joined Dafasa Holdings advising on corporate strategy and succession planning. Safiyya joined Thomson Wilks Inc. in 2009 and completed her articles at the firm. Safiyya was admitted as an attorney in 2011. She specialises in commercial agreements, corporate law, commercial litigation, international trade and offshore company formation and direction. She has taken up the international role of Thomson Wilks Middle East Strategic and Legal Consultancy Office based in Dubai, U.A.E. She acts and represents clients both locally and internationally, and provides legal consultation services to South Africans in Dubai. Safiyya holds a B.A (Law, International Relations, English) from the University of Witwatersrand, and a LLB from the University of South Africa.
