Grant started the firm Gunstons Attorneys back in 1995, and has practised in a wide range of areas of law over the years. These areas include commercial law, property law, both civil and criminal litigation, debt collection, administration of deceased estates, RAF matters and a host of general legal issues. He is a duly admitted conveyancer. Before studying law, Grant gained experience in the corporate world, working for about 5 years at old Mutual in actuarial and marketing environments; and he also completed a BA degree on Politics and Psychology followed by BA (Hons) in Psychology, both part time through UNISA. Having decided that a career in law was his true passion, Grant then went back to university (full time at UCT) and regards this as one of the best decisions he has made, as he thoroughly enjoys law and legal practice. More recently Grant has spent much of his time focussing on growing the firm Gunstons with all that that involves, and has also developed his skills and a strong interest in mediation as one of the dispute resolution tools available to clients, alongside of litigation and arbitration. He is trained both in commercial and family mediation and sees mediation as a growth area in the South African legal environment, as its merits are often compelling, though of course each situation needs to be evaluated. On the personal side of things, Grant is married to Gail, has two daughters, and enjoys mountain biking, golf, and a wide range of other activities.
