Fairbridges was established on 6 November 1812. It is the oldest law firm in South Africa, in Africa and the Southern Hemisphere, with offices in Cape Town and Johannesburg. In 2012 Fairbridges celebrates it bicentennial – 200 years of continuous professional legal services to its clients.
The firm is a member of the International Bar Association, the International Trade Mark Association, the Association of Tax Lawyers and other professional and civic bodies. In 2009, 2010 and 2011, Fairbridges was the highest rated law firm in its category in South Africa in the independent PMR.africa national survey.
