Bowes, McDougall was founded by Peter Bowes and Tony McDougall in March 1988. The firm acquired and incorporated the firms De Wet en Kie, Moffat and Du Preez, EL Chisholm and EJ Nurse in a very short period of time. The firm has since expanded and is presently under the directorship of Tony McDougall, Piet Coetzee, Giel Bester, Megan de Wet and Maryka Stander.

The firm has grown from strength to strength and trained many candidate attorneys, many of whom came from previously disadvantaged backgrounds. Although the original partners still form the backbone of the firm, we strive to stay abreast of challenges of the times to find fitting solutions for a transformed community.
